A:Yes, to attain a work permit. It is essential to attain either a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification.

 Q: Can I arrive without a job in place?

A: Yes you can. There are lots of cover class positions you can dive right into until you find where you want to settle. Online teaching is also a good option to incorporate if you don't have a full schedule.

Q: Do I need a work permit?

A: As with any country, it is illegal to work without a work permit. Depending on the agency you work for, they will generally assist you with this process.

Q: How much money should I expect to spend a day?

A:Depending on your lifestyle and desired experience you want to have, it varies. As an expat teacher you can spend a minimum of $8-$10 a day on food and transport!  One traditional meal costs around $2-$4.

Q: What health checks do I need?

A: It is advised that you get a FULL MEDICAL CHECK done before arrival or you will be sent for one with your agency. 

Q: Do I need a police clearance?

A: Many agencies require a full police clearance check- This NEEDS to be done in your country of residence. Get it done before you arrive in the country!
